There is a longing that stirs within, often without a name. We feel its undeniable pull. For some, the word “spiritual” conjures destructive images and painful memories from the collective, such as martyrhood and suffering, dogma, or egotism filled with hypocrisy. Lazaris guides us beyond these constricting images and ideas that many of us have been, or still are running from.
Spirituality is an active relationship, a dynamic, ongoing relationship with God/Self/Reality that requires profound honesty – acknowledging who we have been, who we are now, and courageously focusing on who we are becoming. This makes spirituality a deeply personal, accountable process. Spirituality is the inherent, private relationship each of us already holds with God-Goddess-All That Is, even if that relationship has been one of questioning or turning away. It is not some distant state to be attained. Lazaris speaks of how we can uncover and work with our spirituality as it already exists.
Lazaris explores the nature of God-Goddess-All That Is, as both masculine and feminine, as the very Light that forms reality, and as the Love that motivates all creation and evolution. Our reality itself is intimately connected to this relationship, acting as a reflection and functioning like a hologram, where every part holds the whole.
The seven steps are presented as a “dance,” and Lazaris makes an important point: None of the steps will make you spiritual, yet each one is essential to becoming spiritual. Rather than following a formula, becoming spiritual is about becoming someone new.
