Getting More Magic Out of Your Meditations
This article is an excerpt of the audio recording with the same title from the "Connecting with Lazaris" Series.
Lapis Pyramid
by Gilbert Williams
By now you know how to meditate, that is to be sure. And you have found your own rather special way to enter into deep and even deeper levels of relaxation, to alter your state of consciousness, and to even change your state of consciousness, relatively easily. And you do it relatively well.
You have discovered the enchantment of your own private inner worlds: that safe place, or that meditation place, or that co- creation place that you have discovered, that you have created, that you have allowed yourself to experience.
You have found the peace and the tranquillity, that is true. From those personal inner worlds of yours, from those safe places, you have ventured forth into perhaps the Causal Plane, or into a most wondrous and mysterious place called the Underworld. From these depths you have encountered mysterious and magical moments. Certainly so, not every time, admittedly, but you have found those mystical moments and you have found the magic deep within, wonderfully within, your meditations.
A magical - a truly magical meditation - oh yes: While in meditation your raw materials: beliefs, attitudes, thoughts, feelings, decisions, and choices have been clear. They have been aligned, they have been in balance with one another. They have been consistent with each other. This is part of the magic.
Your tools of desire, expectation, imagination, have been sharpened, fired and ready to go, raring to carve, create, build, and mold all kinds of wonderful magical realities. A magical meditation is this and more.
The generating and the sustaining energies necessary to transform you from the technician of reality creation into the magician of reality, into the artisan or the master of manifestation, are all churning and humming. They are in tune and your meditation is more than wonderful. It is magical. You have been there. You have known such meditations. Yes, you have. Your meditations can be truly magical! And while you are in meditation you know beyond any shadows of your doubts and regrets, beyond any power of your own negative ego, you know you can create magic, you can create unlimited success, absolutely so.
The problem is you cannot stay in meditation all day long. That's called escaping, that's called avoiding. You know you must exit your meditation to come back into the world. In returning, you can come back to a world of everyday activity interspersed with bits of magic, that is true. You can come back to a reality interspersed with whispers from your Higher Self and interspersed with messages from the very depths of your Soul. However, too often, however interspersed with such, it is not interspersed enough.
The problem is you leave so much of the magic in your meditations, you do not know how to get it out of meditation into your reality, into your world.
You can put magic into your meditations; can you get it out of them? This is the focus of this discussion. There are techniques that you can develop and utilize. There is a series of techniques that you can work with singularly, or that you can use as adjuncts or compliments to the meditative and the processing-programming techniques that you already know and that you already use.
Our purpose here is not to add additional burden to what you are doing metaphysically. Instead we work to blend ideas and techniques with what you are already using. In this way, the work that you are doing can become more magical. So that the reality you are living can be filled with a greater sense of beauty, and a greater sense of that mystical sort of thing that is called magic.
And so what we want to recommend are techniques that you work with for one week - seven days - and then. After four weeks, there can be more magic. If you wish, you can go back and repeat the techniques; the magic can continue to increase.
So the first week, whatever day you want to begin, just mark your calendar, we want you to begin by working with what we call "Bubbles of Light." But do work very specifically.
What we want you to do first of all is to pick your favorite color. Perhaps it is best to pick a fairly primary color among the visual spectrum of light. Pick a basic red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, or violet. Which is your favorite color? You have one. It's not right or wrong, it is just yours. Your favorite color is the first color that you are going to use in the "Bubbles of Light" technique.
Now, to your favorite color, add white. This creates a complimentary or corresponding color to the one you chose. Flooding the color that is your favorite with the color white. For red, then, the complimentary or corresponding color is pink. If you chose orange it will become peach. If you chose yellow, the color will become a soft cream color. If it is green that you selected then it would be lime green. If it is blue, then the correspondent color would become a soft gray. If you chose indigo, the color then transforms into lavender. And of course, if you chose violet, flooding it with white light, it will become somewhat of an alabaster, or perhaps just a soft white color in and of itself.
The third color that we want you to choose is basically what we are going to call your subconscious color. And that is a color that your subconscious wants you to use. The subconscious color may vary from week to week, but during any one given week, always use the same subconscious color. Do not switch mid-week.
So how do you find out what this color is? Now, certainly so, you might go into meditation and simply ask. Ask your Higher Self or your Counselors; ask one of your Unseen Friends.
You might also go into a meditative place in a deep, deep state. Allow yourself to walk down a corridor and see a door, an ordinary door, much as you might imagine in your ordinary world, with a label on top "Subconscious Color" written right out so you know exactly what door it is, certainly so. And then burst it open and let yourself be flooded with whatever color of the major spectrum colors comes dashing forth and surrounds you, embraces you.
For those who do not yet trust your meditative states, you can simply take seven pieces of paper, equally cut or torn so that you cannot distinguish one from the other by their obvious appearance, and on each of them simply write the names of the colors. Fold the papers; stir them up with focused intent. Pick one.
Now, indeed, the three colors may not match, they may not go well together. The color coordinator in you may not be pleased, but then you are not seeking some "Good Housekeeping" award; you are out to improve the magic in your meditative states and to improve the magic that you can bring back from your meditation.
The fourth color you select is white. With these four colors (your favorite and its compliment along with your subconscious selection, and white) you are ready for the first week's activity. Every time you plan to go into meditation, open the meditation by bubbling yourself with the colors in the following fashion.
In a quiet place, visualize the first color surrounding you. With conscious attention to your breath, expand that color but do it in this specific way: On every inhale sense the color expanding. On the exhale nothing happens. And then the second inhale let it expand even further as though a balloon was blowing up about you. On the third and the fourth breath, allow your favorite color to totally embrace, totally surround you, and totally embellish you.
Use only four breaths for this first color. Now the breathing pattern may seem awkward at first. You are conditioned to experience an exhale as expanding. In this exercise, it is the inhale that is expanding and the exhale that maintains the status quo.
Continue expanding this balloon or bubble of color. As you do, add the corresponding or complimentary color. Again, allow this color to develop and surround you as you breathe four wonderful inhales. Sense that color now expanding around you -- your favorite color getting even larger, extending even further - but now surrounded by the correspondent color, for a second and a third and a fourth breath until you're totally surrounded, totally embraced, and indeed, your energy embellished by this color as well.
And then move to the subconscious color, whatever color was chosen, by whatever means you came to it. Allow four breaths to breathe this color, to surround you in it, so that by this point, in that way, you have your favorite color way out there, your correspondent color next, and then closely to you, this subconscious color.
Finally for four subsequent breaths surround yourself with the white light. There will be a total of sixteen strong inhales in all. Now you will be surrounded with this rather massive bubble of light. Four distinctive lights: your favorite color, the correspondent color, the subconscious color, and then white.
The bubble complete, breathe normally. You breathe normally until you can allow in the magnitude of what you have created. Allow in the sense of this huge bubble that surrounds you.
Ready now? Sensing the magnitude of your visualization-creation, with one very strong inhale, draw in all the colors. Draw them all the way back inside you. With sixteen breaths you create this multi-colored bubble. With one additional breath you draw all the colors inside you - inside yourself. Taking this solid and long breath, draw first the white, then the subconscious color, then the correspondent color, and finally your favorite color inside.
Now return to normal breathing. Go about the business of your meditation. You see, this particular technique need not really take much time. It can easily prefix your meditation and can be done, with intention and clear focus, in a very short amount of time. Once done, it can have a delightful and wonderful effect upon your meditation. Have fun; experiment, explore and experience.
You may not notice a great deal of change as you are ready to enter your second week of activity. Move to the second week even so. You do not have to be perfect; you do not have to be the best. Good enough is . . . good enough.
As you are now ready to move onto week two, you may not notice that your magic is coming from meditation now and leaking out, or oozing out into your reality just quite yet, because the technique of the "Bubbles of Light" is working almost on a cellular level and most definitely on a subconscious and beginning to work on an unconscious level of your mind. And therefore it is with the subsequent weeks of work that what you have done that first week will come to benefit you, will manifest itself, and will prove to be most valuable.
This week we want to recommend that you stop using the "Bubbles of Light" technique altogether, and turn now to what we call "The Magical Fire." "The Magical Fire" technique is a technique that you use when you open and when you close your meditation. Whereas the "Bubbles of Light" was used exclusively to open meditation, this technique is used then and also to close the meditation.
Again, add this technique to your already-planned meditative regimen or practice. It need not be a special meditation. Once you go to your meditative safe place, draw a circle around you. Perhaps you do it with a stick, perhaps you do it with a paintbrush. Depending upon the surface, draw a circle upon the floor of your safe place. Let the circle begin where it ends; let it end where it begins.
Once you have drawn the circle, stand within it. With the snap of a mental finger, sense a flame igniting. At first, it is a low flame, just a little flame, that now encircles you. The circle you have drawn comes alive with this little flame. No, you are standing within a circle of flame. Safe, secure.
Standing within this flamed circle, we encourage you to take a few moments to imagine and to visualize what your negativity looks like. That's right, in whatever way works for you, imagine and visualize the appearance of your negativity.
As an example, you might see your self-doubt as an amorphous form, perhaps dark, misty, and swirling or moving as an ameba. You might see your fears as being jagged, sharp, and colored in harsh dark tones. See your insecurities, see your anxieties, see your tensions, your stresses. See all these as the things that could stand in your way of magic and in your way of a more magical life.
Sense them as these abstract forms that are out there beyond your fire, beyond the circle in which you stand. It is important that they are not within the circle, not within the flame.
As you sense them there, somewhat tall and somewhat short, somewhat wide, different forms, different shapes, putting out their energy, experience. Dialog with yourself: "Yes, I can tell that's stress, look at the sharp jagged edges. That one's fear, look at the lumbering quality to it. And that's anxiety, look at how it's so light and moves around so quickly, dancing and jumping at every turn."
Objectify these energies of negativity. No, we are not talking of dissociating from them. We are talking about objectifying them. Give them a realness, but put that realness outside of you and outside your circle of flame. You have learned to work with your negative ego this way; you have learned to work with your Shadow this way. Objectify your negativity in whatever abstract forms it takes and place it outside the circle.
These energies of negativity can be general: about life itself. Or they can be specific: about the issues at focus in the very meditation that you are doing. Either way, it can work. We would suggest: it can work well for you.
As you see the negativity out there - safe, beyond the fire - let the fire lift up. Let the flame, not grow wider necessarily, but grow higher. Growing higher, coming up now two or three inches, four or five inches, six or eight inches, ten, twelve, a foot or two now, three feet, four feet, five feet and six feet, seven and eight and nine and even ten feet all around you! These roaring glorious flames in brilliant colors, blotting out, blinding you to the fears, blinding you to the doubts and insecurities. Sense it all around you.
And as you do, feeling the warmth -- yes, it's going to get a little warm inside that circle of flame -- but nonetheless, sense yourself there inside, safe from all that negativity that is on the outside.
And then let the floor, or the ground upon which you stand, gently begin to lower as though it were on a hydraulic, as though it were like an elevator lowering you, lowering you, lowering you, lowering you, and lowering you. And when it comes to rest you will once again be in your safe place: a replication, a duplication of that safe space you left, but now with no circle, no flame, and most importantly, no negativity.
From this particular vantage point, go about your meditation with its processing and programming. If you were planning to head to the inner worlds, do the technique that will take you there. If you were planning to head off to the Causal Plane, find the opening in the earth, and ask for the help, and let yourself find and soar and stretch and reach all the way to that Causal Plane. If it is a thirty-three second technique, or a Sphere of Light technique, or whatever processing/programming technique that you were planning to use, that you were initially intending to go from your safe place to do, go ahead and do so. Carry it forth, forgetting all that has happened, in that sensing, just do your meditation as you normally would.
When you are ready to close the meditation, when you are ready to stop: back in your safe place, allow the ground that is beneath you now to lift up like a hydraulic again. Let it lift as an elevator, lifting up, up, up, lifting up. See then the ground as you are passing it with the flame upon it, rising up and seeing the flame still burning, still burning raised up high, ten or twelve feet, however high it was, hot and wondrous glorious flames: oranges and yellows, brilliant colors, roaring sounds . . .. The ground upon which you now stand comes back to its original place; you are standing there within the circle, within the flame.
Now simply with a motion, or with a decision, allow the flame to subside. Allow the flame to get smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller until it is but just a little safe flame, a ring of flame around you. And then with a "huhh" (exhale) of your breath extinguish that flame.
You are standing in a circle and, as you look around you, all the negativity is gone and you simply exit your meditation by whatever means you normally would have exited it. Remind yourself what you have done. Let it in.
Week three. You may start to notice now that more of the things you are wanting, more of the visualizations you are doing, are happening in your world. Maybe it's starting at the less threatening end - at the safer things that you want to have or to have happen. Maybe you are getting some grand and glorious successes that are manifesting ever so magically. A little or a lot, you are beginning to feel the overall power and benefit of what you have begun. Things are becoming - subtle or more obviously - more magical.
The second week worked very clearly with the subconscious and the unconscious mind. They are now in alignment, they are now in tune, and you are ready now for week three to expand and to add to the magic that you are getting out of your meditations.
Week three is what we call "Embracing the Magic." This is a meditation that you use not at the beginning, but only at the close, only at the close of the meditative process that you would ordinarily be involved in.
Go about your normal meditative activity this week. When you are about to exit your meditation, we encourage you to see the thing that you are trying to create. Whether or not it is a physical thing or an emotional-mental state, see what you want in front of you. What you see may be about the clarity you seek, the spiritual connection for which you search. Abstract or tangible, see what you want and see it there before you. It could be something mundane or esoteric; see it there symbolically and metaphorically before you. It is just there.
Remember the colors from week one? Among your favorite color, your corresponding-complimentary color, or the subconscious color, which one is most vivid to you? Which is the brightest and more evident in your thought, feeling, and imagination? Be spontaneous here. Do not think about which one should be or that you would like to be most vivid; focus on the one that is most vivid.
We want you to take that color and sense it surrounding what you want and surrounding you. Again, a bubble of light, but this time of the one color that was most vivid, surrounding you and surrounding the thing that you want. Sense it surrounding both of you. You can blow it up, again, with your breath -- blowing it, blowing it -- until it surrounds both of you, until it is totally engulfing you both.
Now let the bubble of color begin to contract. As it does, it draws you and the thing you want closer and closer together. As the bubble becomes smaller, the tangible or intangible thing you want comes closer to you. In time it becomes so close that you and it begin to merge. You begin to occupy the same space (and time). Finally, the thing you want is totally absorbed into you. Totally. It is part of you.
And you once again stand there in your safe place with no external evidence of the color at all. For all the color and the magic has been embraced; it has been drawn inside of you.
And as you close your meditations this week now, all week long, do so with this "Embrace of the Magic" technique, you will start to more definitively see the magic manifesting, coming from your meditation, and expressing itself in your reality.
Well, you have reached the final week, and this week we want to work very directly with you in what is called a "Blending." This can be a time when you can blend your energies with the energies of your Higher Self, your Counselors, or your Guardian, by whatever name you call them.
During this fourth week, as you open your normal meditative procedures this week, take a moment to visualize a ball of light. Begin with imagining a tiny speck of light no more than that of firefly, no more than a glimmer or gleam in the corner of your eye, no more than spark of sparkler at a Summer's celebration in July. Imagine. Imagine. Call it "just pretend" if you like; imagine.
Now, allow that tiny speck of light to grow. Let it grow to be the size of a candle flame - no wick, no paraffin. Let it grow and grow until it becomes a vertical elliptic of light. Let it grow until it becomes a myriad of glimmers and gleams of love and light. Let it grow until it becomes as tall as you.
Now, let your Higher Self, one of your Counselors, or your Guardian, to step forth from the light. Let them step out of that ball of light as though it were a doorway, a portal, a vortex of energy. This same imagery is the one we suggest when people do a Lazaris Blending - when people blend with us. However, you can use that same image as a gateway for you to blend with your Higher Self or another of your unseen friends.
Perhaps you have your own particular way of greeting your Higher Self. Of course you can use that means instead of what we are suggesting here. We offer suggestions; you make the decisions.
Whoever emerges from that light or whoever comes through your self-designed gateway, let them surround you. Let them embrace and then engulf you. Let them surround; let yourself be surrounded.
Sense this one who surrounds, embraces, and engulfs you, entering your head. Let them fill your head. Let them then fill your heart. Fill your solar plexus, let your stomach extend.
Allow the one who embraces and engulfs to make the necessary adjustments; let yourself adjust as well. Allow this one to work inside your head, heart, and solar plexus to effect the changing and the healing. Let them do the healing and changing that will let more magic into your life.
You do not need to know exactly what they do. You do not need to know exactly how they do it. Allow. Receive. Let yourself receive the healing and the changing necessary. Forego the labels; allow the miracles.
Once they and you have "made the adjustments," allow yourself to go about the business of the meditation you were planning.
As you sense the head, the chest, and the solar plexus expanded and filled with this light, then proceed to do your meditative activity as you normally would.
And at the close of the meditation once again, take just a moment to allow the light that has otherwise filled your head, filled your chest, filled your abdomen, to withdraw. Allow the one who worked with you - blended with you - to withdraw from you. Allow them to stand before you, loving you. Take that moment to feel their love for you (being loved) and to feel your love for them (being loving). Do it very consciously and very deliberately.
There is such magic in love. There is magic in being loved; there is even more magic in being loving. Let the magic.
And as you do that each day this week, this final week, you will find that the four procedures will work very nicely together, and will produce the end result of getting more magic out of your meditations.
And so have fun. Allow yourself to explore. Allow yourself to succeed. We love you. And we close with love, oh yes, with love and peace.
