Lazaris on Channeling

During the late 1980s when the New Age was the cause celebre, it seemed as though each day there was someone new claiming to channel this "high spirit" or that "evolved entity." It was a confusing time that Lazaris called the New Age Circus and that, at times, felt like a sideshow.

Yet through it all, Lazaris continued to channel his message through Jach. He was once asked why he chose channeling as the method of communication.

Here is his reply:

Well, we have never been physical, nor do we desire to be. And part of the reason we chose this method is that this medium of communication challenges one's thought. The method of communication is also part of the message in something of a Marshall McLuhan meaning of the concept.

Part of what we are saying is, "Look, people, there is consciousness that exists far beyond that which you can believe, far beyond that which you can imagine. There are levels of consciousness that exist that are beyond that of the Physical Plane." We are an example of that; we come from that level. We are not going to "sell out," using your vernacular, in this sense by being dishonest.

We realize that we could well just put these ideas in the Channel's [Jach's] head and have him appear to speak them out of his own intuitive sense. We well could convey The Lazaris Material to him in dream states, or he could even have a sense of just receiving the information, as you say, out of the blue.

For most humans, that would be a simpler and more comfortable way to hear what we have to offer; for the Channel, he would be more readily accepted among his fellow human beings. It would be a simple avenue to just plant ideas in his head and let him think that they were his ideas - and let the world think that this Jach person has some rather unique, interesting, and very valuable ideas.

But that would not be honestly what is happening. They are not his ideas; they are our ideas. They are not his insights; they are ours. We are not going to lie or twist the truth to make it more palatable or more comfortable. Part of what we are talking about is honesty.

We know we are a challenge to certain people. We know there will be many who will dismiss us out of hand. We are willing to have that impact because truth means so much more to us. Ultimately, beyond love and freedom, that is all you have got. Honesty and truth are right next to love and freedom as the core energy of this cosmos of yours - of this Universe of Free Will of yours. So we are not going to abandon honesty and truth for the convenience of communicating in a way that is less than honest and less than truthful - less than whole.

Why not just become a body? Why not just put the ideas into the Channel's head and let him live with the delusion that they are his original ideas? Because we respect humankind; we respect you, and we respect him. Because we respect human beings and their ability to say no. Reality is a product of choice, and you have choice as to the method of growth as well, as to whether to grow. We want to provide that opportunity and that challenge.

This is why we chose this means of working, exploring, and loving with you. We chose this method because it is the most effective one for what we want to do; it is the most honest and most truthful one as well.
